This position will be responsible for procurement (via customer service), delivery and storage of parts, as well as the day to day scheduling of production work and scheduled maintenance of equipment for the LTSA.Essential Responsibilities: In this role you will work within defined parameters to make decisions, apply concepts to issues of moderate complexity, and resolve issues through immediate action or short-term planning. Working closely with the local and off-shore individuals and teams such as; Operations, Service, Material Fulfilment and Supply teams. Your role is to ensure all material and resources required to satisfy the GE OHV LTSA is available for scheduled and unscheduled maintenance, to prevent WIP held for material. Continuous alignment of GE and the customer’s dynamic maintenance/scheduling plans is critical for the success of this role. Update and control the production schedule and work-flow as well as production and facility equipment maintenance is also within the role’s remit. The position also may be required to function as team coach in a GE teaming environment.
- Coordinate and execute part supply (via customer service), and part scheduling activities for required part numbers by using advanced planning system and GE supply systems
- Oversee the GE Store functions and production personnel to ensure adequate coverage as per contractual requirements
- Ensure all materials are supplied, stored and handled to meet GE and the customer’s safety and site requirements.
- Assure that the shops have the necessary materials, to meet required maintenance levels.
- Work with internal and external stakeholders to meet GE’s contractual obligations, and additionally any internal goals and performance metrics (KPI’s) management deems necessary
- Assist customer service in defining processes for effective transport of materials to and from the GE OHV LTSA site in a timely manner
- Coordinate input on material shortages, labour shortages, and delivery of hardware including subcontracted items.
- Identify and react to material and production plans that do not meet customer requirements
- Monitor implementation of corrective action plans for scheduling issues
- Provide effective scheduling and implementation of all programs based on the Master Schedule, cycle time, shop capacity, hardware / tooling availability, and status to schedules
- Monitor supply and demand misalignment using advanced planning system, and collaborate with manufacturing and material ordering (via Customer service) sources to implement corrective action plans
- Act as a scheduling focal point and monitor production areas to ensure material and rotables delivery dates meet the customers’ needs
- Coordinate the efforts of cross-functional groups and across shifts to resolve bottlenecks, parts shortages, machine maintenance, manpower issues, and shop capacity
- Assure timely shipments to all sites and prepare and implement work orders and plans as required
- Interface with Operations management, Production teams, Customer service team, quality, EHS, supply, customer service reps and other GE organizations as required
- Analyze and measure the current production status and identify problem areas that inhibit full schedule realization
- Analyze data to determine opportunities to decrease inventory, improve customer service levels and reduce total costs
- Prepare availability reports for all equipment, as required.
- Resource correct parts and consumables and ensure a requisition is completed for ordering of parts.
- Check availability of parts.
- Check on production team pre-starts and create defect lists.
- Abide by all company Policies and Procedures.
- Participate in workplace inspections and safe work observations.
- Ensure mandatory PPE is applied.
- Must comply with mandatory random drug & alcohol testing.
- Attend all teaming toolbox talks and workplace safety meetings.
- Undertake any training required for the position.
- To be flexible with work hours when required.
- The ability to prioritise workloads.
- Must be able to work as part of a team, with or without supervisionQualifications/Requirements: - Tertiary Qualifications in Supply Chain Management, Operations or similar qualification, or equivalent significant industry experience in Sourcing, Materials Management and Production Planning.
- Proven ability to plan, source and manage materials and production schedules in a multimillion dollar industrial environment with achievement of On Time Delivery and Cost efficiency.
- Demonstrated ability to influence and schedule production teams in meeting objectives.
- Significant experience in using and training others in the use of ERP and MRP systems
- Track record of building relationships, influencing and communicating with a broad range of stakeholders to achieve business outcomes
- Knowledge of wheel motor and alternator parts and assemblies will be well regarded.
- Demonstrated ability to identify problems, analyse data, generate opinions and implement innovative solutions to complex problems.
