بسم الله الرحمن الرحيم

امتدادا لموضوع الدراسات العليا فى كندا, واستكمالا للمجهود المبذول فيه لمساعدة راغبى الدراسة فى الجامعات الكندية , فقد لاحظت اهمية وجود الكثير من اساتذة الجامعة المصريين فى كندا, ورغبة الكثير منهم فى مساعدة الطلبة المصريين على وجه الخصوص قدر استطاعتهم, واستجابتهم لطلبات واستفسارات الطلبة المصريين اكثر من غيرهم من الاساتذة من جنسيات اخرى.
والغرض الثانى من هذا الموضوع هو حصر اساتذة الجامعة المصريين فى كندا , وتوضيح تخصصاتهم المختلفة, وذلك لانى لم اجد مثل هذا الحصر على مواقع الانترنت, رغم وجود دليل لرجال الاعمال المصريين فى كندا , واخر للاطباء المصريين فى كندا.
وقد اضم هذا الموضوع فى المستقبل الى موضوع الدراسات العليا فى كندا وفقا لتطور هذا الموضوع. ويارب يكون مفيد لجميع الزملاء فى المنتدى, وربنا يكرم الجميع ان شاء الله .

Professor Amr Helmy



I joined the department of Electrical and Computer engineering of the University of Toronto with a mixed experience in academic as well as industrial environments. I received a degree in Electronics and Telecommunications from Cairo University in 1993. Both my M.Sc. (9/1995) and Ph.D. (11/1998) degrees were obtained from the University of Glasgow, Scotland, in the field of photonics. I was a European Union-sponsored research fellow on project to study difference frequency generation in III-V heterostructures using Quantum well intermixing in 1999.
Between 2000 and 2004 I joined Agilent Technologies, where I was involved in developing different Photonic devices ranging form high reliability high power submarine-class 980 nm lasers, to DFBs for un-cooled high temperature operation, to integrated laser/modulator/amplifier devices.
My Research Interests include; Photonic device physics and characterization techniques, non-linear optics in III-V semiconductors, applied optical spectroscopy for III-V optoelectronic devices and materials, III-V fabrication and monolithic integration techniques.

Prof.Tarek S. Abdelrahman




My research in the areas of parallel systems and compilers. The overall goal of my research is to make parallel system (e.g. multicore, clusters of workstations and GPUs) easier to use and thus more accessible. My research is experimental and systems-oriented. I co-authored three conference papers that received best paper awards.

Academic and Clinical Interests
Research endeavors are focused on geriatric neuropharmacology of anesthetic agents. Main interest is exploring the mechanisms of aging potentiation of anesthetics and the mechanisms of its neurologic side effects. Experimental methods have been used to answer various questions pertaining to the mechanisms of postoperative cognitive dysfunction and strategies to improve anesthesia recovery profiles.

Clinical studies have been in the area of clinical neuroanethesia including major spine surgery. Recently, studies are being designed to evaluate the impact of aging on cerebral monitoring of anesthetic levels and the development of novel EEG indices for neuromonitoring.
