This position will remain open until a suitable candidate is found.QUALIFICATIONS:- Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Agriculture, or a related field (preferred).- Proficiency in EZ Feed, or other dairy software programs, and Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint), or willingness to learn and operate.- Excellent organizational, time management, and prioritization skills.- Ability to meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with an emphasis on customer service.- Experience in the dairy industry or a strong interest in livestock is a plus.- Ability to speak Spanish or willingness to learn is highly desired.- Understanding of equipment used in a dairy operation.JOB DESCRIPTION:Hansen Agri-PLACEMENT is representing a large dairy and custom heifer operation located in California who is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Dairy Business Administrator to join their team. The ideal candidate will have a passion for agriculture, a willingness to learn, and the ability to manage multiple aspects of their business operations, including inventory management, financial reporting, and eventually taking on management responsibilities at their Heifer Ranch. This position offers a unique opportunity for growth and development in the dairy industry.Responsibilities:- Manage all aspects of feed inventory, including reporting to accountants and banks to support loan applications and financial assessments.- Determine the value of commodities such as feed grains, silage, and hay using existing methods.- Oversee inventory and reporting for both the dairy and the custom heifer operation using EZfeed software.- Address and resolve any EZfeed related issues.- Participate in management meetings and contribute to decision-making processes.- Gradually assume management responsibilities of the Heifer Ranch, including financial oversight and customer communication.- Negotiate contracts for feed purchasing, price shopping for farm inputs, and manage monthly reporting to county commissioners on pesticide and herbicide use.- Evaluate and manage the sale of surplus equipment.- Support vet check days by working closely with the owner, vet, and herdsman.- Manage logistics with milk haulers and distributors, and oversee communication with vendors and customers.- Assist in the administrative functions of the Company's equipment dealership.- Ensure compliance with industry regulations.ALL INQUIRIES ARE KEPT CONFIDENTIAL.
