Includes commissioning, servicing, troubleshooting, breakdown support, standby support (for periods of extended use, i.e., longwall relocations), after hours call outs, preventative maintenance and warranty work.Essential Responsibilities: Investigate and deliberate customer’s quality complaints and make recommendations for improvements to product and manufacturing processes to address any identified shortcomings by using Non-conformance reporting procedures as part of our Quality System.
Required to have a comprehensive knowledge of GEI ME machinery including control systems, operational skills, maintenance requirements and trouble shooting techniques.
Required to service, operate, investigate, repair, and report machine related issues and tasks using sound engineering/trade techniques and procedures.
Prepare and complete commissioning and service reports to ensure machines are fully functional prior to release to customer.
Participate in risk assessments and design reviews in consultation with the Supply Chain, Product, Engineering and Service teams and provide input in relation to the practical application of the equipment in the field.
Participate in the preparation and presentation of operation, maintenance and training packages.
Provide ongoing support of the products in the field.
Act as the point of contact to resolve technical issues and prepare professional reports to validate fault finding and resolutions to support engineering or supply chain alterations as appropriate.
Provide a high level of support for any technical issues in the workshop and field globally.
Capabilities in relation to operating and demonstrating GEI ME machinery to showcase the products to their best advantage.
Maintain competency with regard to Diesel Engine Systems (DES) and ensure personal training is undertaken to ensure individual knowledge base is proactively sustained on all IME equipment.
Maintain regular internal communication within the team including the population of the GEI ME forum.
The design, manufacture, testing and repair of Explosion Protected electrical equipment certified and/or registered under ANZEx, and/or IECEx and/or ATEX shall be undertaken by persons having been formally assessed as having the necessary competencies, and the verification of documents related to the repair/overhaul of such equipment is only undertaken by persons formally assessed as competent and registered under the appropriate scheme, and the design, manufacture, testing and repair of explosion protected mechanical equipment registered under CMRA [DII] shall be undertaken by persons having been formally assessed as having the necessary competencies.
Assist customers with technical difficulties, as may arise on equipment supplied, new or overhauled, by GE IME.
As the immediate GE IME ‘face to the customer’ (at that time), maintain a professional manner and capture any complaints or comments in writing and pass to Manager for distribution and action. Proactively inform customers of any improvements or modifications available for enhancing their existing equipment.
Inform the Lead Field Commissioning Manager of any service work to be performed that can be charged for, complete with relevant information and order numbers to allow said work to be accurately quoted.
Commitment to high levels of Quality and adherance to the GEI ME quality control system procedures, including completion of the non conformance - corrective action forms as appropriate.
Undertake training to ensure compliance with current inductions, Coal Board Medicals, Mines Rescue CABA and mine site regulations is maintained.
Recognise the need for support outside regular business hours and at a variety of locations including interstate and international travel and be committed to providing high level customer satisfaction.
Undertake statutory testing requirements for customer’s GE IME machines along with the accurate and timely completion of all documentation associated with the same.
Actively pursue opportunities for work on GE IME equipment in use.
Identify leads with regard to opportunities for Overhauls and future service work.
Performing operator and maintenance training as requiredQualifications/Requirements: High level safety commitment and focus.

Trade qualified with high pressure hydraulics and heavy equipment experience.
