Posted Position Title: Strategy & Growth Leader - A&NZ & PNG Career Level: Experienced Function: Marketing Function Segment: Product Marketing Location: Australia U.S. State, China or Canada Provinces: City: Richmond Postal Code: 3121 Relocation Assistance: No Role Summary/Purpose: This position will be responsible for partnering with regional business leaders / CEO / CFO / CIO to prioritize critical customer needs and work with the sales team to determine and deliver differentiated value for customers. Identifying and driving a number of the key commercial initiatives, through to execution, the Commercial Leader will deliver incremental growth for the region in the medium term. Essential Responsibilities: The role reports directly to the Head of Strategy & Growth for GE AU, NZ & PNG. There are 2 other similarly positioned Commercial Leader roles within the Strategy & Growth team in the AU, NZ & PNG GGO and each is viewed as critical to delivering growth in the region. The Growth team is part of the Global Growth Organisation (GGO) which houses GE's enabling functions and which is focused on helping GE's businesses be more effective in what they do and improving the likelihood of winning in the markets.

    This role will collaborate across businesses and with industry partners/institutions to convert deep market and customer understanding and insight into tangible growth by specifically focusing on both material and nascent opportunities that require an understanding of the local and global markets.

    The successful candidate will work closely with the Commercial teams across all businesses, the Software COE, and the GGO Finance team. This will require high level of collaboration across multiple businesses and GGO functions to be effective. The candidate will also be required to collaborate with customers and 3rd party suppliers to identify opportunities and package solutions.

    - Drive growth/GE share: Help sales drive increased volume and prospect conversion through the application of GE capabilities & “the GE store” – responsible for one on one customer delivery across a geographical area; travel required

    - New program/capability creation and delivery: work with sales leaders, industry experts, CIO/CFO etc. to identify customer needs and create capabilities across customer segments/industries etc. (i.e. Sustainability development workshops, growth stage workshop content / customer specific business analytics)

    - Key account identification & prioritization: Work with the Commercial sales teams within each business to identify and manage key customers and prospects and align customer specific differentiation strategies

    - Needs assessment and value prop delivery: Create customer value by identifying customers/prospects business challenges, and then help address these challenges by applying GE resources, learnings, processes, functions and expertise at individual customer level and in industry segments

    - Lead outcome selling account planning process with strategic accounts

    - Define, build and implement a local commercial strategy for GE’s businesses (i.e. commercial models, pricing strategy, etc.)

    - Identify global products that can be deployed locally, as well as local products and offerings that may be unique or opportunities within these markets

    - Co-ordinate with all stakeholders – business, GGO and any external - to drive execution of the key initiatives

    - Construct and co-ordinate the relevant 'execution teams' having the required technical and commercial skills to drive activation of the opportunity set

    - Prepare business and investment cases as required to support requests for any required capability build, partnership options and/or acquisition targets

    - Identify the key growth funding initiatives that are required as a part of the near-mid term growth requirements of the businesses

    - Articulate the critical organizational capabilities (people, processes & tools) required for the businesses to win in the relevant markets

    - Maintain a knowledge base and network with key market stakeholder and influencers (policy-making, education, research) that ensures GE's position is always contemporary and relevant

    - Actively participate and leverage market forums, associations and other sources for best practices and ideas to present to the businesses Qualifications/Requirements:
    - Undergraduate degree with 10+ years of relevant business experience in a strategy or business development role, ideally at an investment bank or top tier management consulting firm

    - Strong understanding of the sectors in which GE plays

    - Strong analytic and problem-solving capability, business acumen and intellectual capability to simplify the complex to an action plan with a view to effective execution

    - Ability to formulate enterprise sales solutions involving products, services, technology and financing, both internal to GE and using 3rd parties

    - Experience in managing sales opportunities

    - Ability to connect cross business and functional boundaries and build relationships externally to drive commercial results

    - Experience in working with senior executives to both present and prepare communications and presentations

    - Excellent interpersonal, presentation, communication & facilitation skills

    - Ability to quickly gain credibility and trust, working at all levels of the organization and with customers

    - Executive & customer presence including an ability to operate and build consensus at multiple levels of the organization

    - ECLP candidates preferred

    - Advanced degree / qualification preferred (e.g. MBA, Masters, CFA) Additional Eligibility Qualifications: Desired Characteristics: SKILLS/TECHNICAL KNOWLEDGE:
