Yemen's Houthi-supported armed forces stepped up offensives against the last stronghold of pro-government fighters in Marib province on Monday following renewed clashes the day before. A source from the UN-recognised, Saudi-backed Yemeni government was quoted by AFP as stating that Houthi forces have since been bolstered by reinforcements. "Fighting took place about 10 kilometres west of Marib," said the anonymous source. "At least 20 government fighters were killed and 28 others wounded." He added that Houthi fighters also suffered many casualties, but an accurate tally was not immediately available.
