Functions Coordinator
The Department of the Prime Minister and Cabinet (DPMC) supports the Governor-General in her role as the representative of New Zealand's Head of State, Queen Elizabeth II, and to fulfil important constitutional, ceremonial, community and international roles.
The team at Government House manages the overall running of Government House to ensure effective support of the Governor-General, including planning and organising all official engagements and functions, and ensuring that the Governor-General is well supported in all settings.
We have a vacancy in our team for a Functions Coordinator. The successful applicant will be an experienced events/functions coordinator, with a demonstrated ability to coordinate with multiple stakeholders to achieve quality results.
You will be provided an opportunity to step into a role supporting a highly visible leader, where you will be an important liaison with a wide range of stakeholders from across New Zealand. You will be a team player, flexible and willing to pick up a range of tasks to support our objectives. Most importantly, you'll come with a keen eye for detail and delivery of high level events.
Key responsibilities include:
- Responsibility for planning and management of all functions held at Government House Wellington or Auckland
- Responsibility for the management of major events for Their Excellencies
- Producing short briefings for the Governor-General
- Ensures that all managers and staff are kept informed on the arrangements for functions and events
- Promotes the Office and Household of the Governor-General by handling external contacts with discretion and efficiency
The successful applicant will demonstrate excellent computer literacy, particularly in Microsoft Office suite.
