Support the management fot eh Consumer strategic initiatives agenda/program
Identify strategic opportunities to play and win, and apply strategic thinking and evaluation techniques to develop recommendations
Conduct deep market and competitor analysis
Provide trusted advice and support, such as insights, data and modelling, to the product teamsEssential Responsibilities: Strategy Development

Identify which market sectors and market segments in which to play and their relative attractiveness to the business

Identify product categories and market segments that we should enter, hold position or exit

Use appropriate analytical frameworks and techniques to filter and rank opportunities/threats

Define strategies to win in the chosen markets and market segments

Identification and evaluation of revenue generation or cost reduction initiatives/ideas at portfolio, product or customer level

Work with the Strategy and Product Director to develop the Consumer Strategic Roadmap and manage the annual strategic review process

Develop strategy recommendations for endorsement by the Consumer Strategy and Product Director and GM Consumer

Consumer business planning and program management

Provide an overarching view across the Consumer business of key initiatives and activity and track progress of deliverables

Manage the Consumer ‘gap’, co-ordinating revenue growth or cost reduction initiatives

Co-ordinate the regular Consumer business planning cycle

Monitor commitments to planned initiatives across Consumer to ensure deliverables are met )

Market Analysis

Partner with Marketing to gather and perform System/Market size and market share analysis/reporting

Gather relevant economic and social trend data

Development of system growth forecasts

Provide trusted advice and support

Where required provide support (insights; data; modelling) to assist the Product teamsQualifications/Requirements: Qualifications
Degree qualified in a business related discipline
MBA or post-grad qualification (desirable)

Experience
5-10+ years relevant business and financial services experience
Preferable to have management consulting experience in an analyst/senior analyst role; or extensive strategy or analyst experience in financial services
Ideally credit cards and personal lending experience (desirable)Additional Eligibility Qualifications: Desired Characteristics: Technical Knowledge
Sound understanding of financial services, credit cards and personal loans and the market characteristics of each
Sound understanding of strategy frameworks and methodologies and application of these in a financial services contextSkills/Attributes/Behaviours

Highly numerate
Strong deductive reasoning skills
Ability to deal with ambiguous and complex scenarios and facts and find a way through
Excellent communication and influencing skills – can clearly articulate an argument and persuade stakeholders to buy in
