Integrates and develops processes that meet business needs across the organization. Involved in long-term planning. · Manage the Engineering team including development needs and resource planning
· Responsible for Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) relating to the team
· Plan / develop technical and management processes to improve both team and customer productivity
· Provide support to Bid Management to ensure executable bids are proposed
· Liaise with customers either on or off site as necessary, under direction of a Project Manager
· Responsible for Involvement with requirements specification and interface with cross-functional departments to complete these tasks
· Improve areas of project execution and department management through Six Sigma methodology
· Establish and maintain an effective and economical administrative system in the Engineering Department
· Implement a system to authorize, provide and control technical information, instructions and advise all personnel
· Operate an efficient Technical Publications section to enable up to date technical references (manuals, service bulletins etc) to be readily available and accessible to all personnel
· Support in-house development of approved repair capabilities
· Responsible to undertake the necessary corrective and preventive actions resulting from Quality non-compliance monitoring and audit programsQualifications/Requirements: · Bachelor's degree from an accredited university or college
· At least 5 additional years of experience in an Engineering management roleAdditional Eligibility Qualifications: Desired Characteristics: · Strong Leadership skills· Knowledge of working within a Quality environment (Particularly ISO 9001)· Strong organization skills· Strong problem solving abilities· Prior experience in system delivery of complex utility network management systems is preferred· Database management using Oracle, MS Access, or other specialized maintenance applications is preferred· Strong customer mindset· Ability to work to tight deadlines and cope under pressure· Ability to undertake occasional work on client site· Six Sigma training is preferred· Strong oral and written communication skills· Strong interpersonal and leadership skills
