Partnering with stakeholders in Consumer, Operations and Commercial by establishing and maintaining effective working relationships to provide compliance advice and support on business projects, work requests and remediation activities.
Ensuring controls are captured and implemented through key business projects, work requests and remediation activities to ensure Compliance risks are reduced.Essential Responsibilities: Provide consistent compliance advice in a timely manner to the Consumer,Commercial and Operations stakeholders supporting business projects,remediation activities, work requests and other business BAU activities as required.
Represent compliance on business meetings and initiatives as required, reviewing and approving business collateral, process documents and other relevant material.
Ensure compliance risks are captured, reported and communicated to the Business Compliance Leader – Projects and assist with the reduction or elimination of these compliance risks. Ensure that compliance issues that require escalation are raised to relevant forums, entered in systems (ie EOR), and tracked to completion as needed.
Assist with development and delivery of local and corporate Compliance projects, programs and initiatives within the Commercial business as required.
Work on projects / initiatives to close identified gaps.
Serve as a sounding board and advocate for Compliance within the business.
Work with the Compliance department, the Business Assurance team and the Risk function team to support the implementation of a robust 1st line and 2nd line control framework.
Prepare necessary materials for reporting / escalation into relevant committees
Drive Compliance culture.
Participate in Compliance investigations as required.
Assist in the preparation for new regulatory requirements by supporting projects / business initiatives.
Assist with the delivery of local and Corporate Compliance projects, programs and initiatives.
Ability to manage multiple business and Compliance initiatives.Qualifications/Requirements: Qualifications
Relevant undergraduate or post graduate degree in areas such as Legal, Accounting, Finance and Audit.
Experience
Minimum of three to five years relevant business experience in the provision of Compliance advice / support to projects run by a financial services business, with an understanding and ability to ensure appropriate controls are developed and built, the ability to clearly articulate areas of concern, drive effective remediation and closure of issues.
Technical Knowledge
? Sound understanding of the Financial Services industry including a strong understanding of the following areas: Australian Credit Licence obligations, Australian Financial Services Licence obligations, Australian Privacy Principles, and Financial Ombusperson Scheme areas of focus..
? Solid understanding of legislative requirements and current compliance practices
? Understanding of Regulatory bodies and Corporate Governance
