The initial functional area of responsibility is financial accounting processes and compliance processes focused on revenue recognition & commercial compliance; however this may change over time.Essential Responsibilities: Duties include (but are not limited to):
- Drive consistent and effective policies and procedures during monthly/quarterly close process including account reconciliations, account reconciliation audits, GE Corporate Data Request (DR) submissions, representation letters and adjusting entries.
- Participate in annual pre-close, quarterly CFO risk reviews and monthly controllership reviews with key operations and financial management personnel.
- Research and advise on complex technical accounting issues.
- Ensure compliance with Sarbanes-Oxley 404 requirements.
- Partner with GE Corporate Audit Staff and Finance Managers for internal GE compliance reviews. Drive closure of open audit issues and proactively work to prevent future issues / manage risk. Lead resulting corrective action process implementation and follow up throughout the organization.
- Perform financial analysis of balance sheet accounts to ensure compliance, integrity of account balances/financial reporting and effectiveness of business processes.
- Work closely with financial and operational leadership to pro-actively assess and manage financial risk.
- Drive and provide input into GE Healthcare controllership and simplification initiatives
- Ensure Journals are booked to reflect financial activities in a compliant manner(may include some or all of: deferred revenue, accruals, fixed assets, stock/inventory, accounts receivables, accounts payables, expenses, payroll)
- Ensure timely and defect-free account reconciliations.
- Provide accurate and timely statutory & management reporting support
- Provide reporting for Corporate/Business requests
- Implementation of Controllership tools and processes
- Implementation of Business/Company policies
- Interpret finance risks & opportunities to local circumstances & present workable solutions
- Review of contracts to identify accounting implications and communicate to stakeholders
- Working with sales and account managers in contract negotiation to structure contracts to meet business objectives as well as revenue recognition compliance
- Manage processes to identify risk in sales contracts and implement controls to address the risks
- Support the commercial controller with the implementation of compliance policies. Including but not limited to quarter end data management, implementation of new management tools & process and supporting commercial teams with compliance
