    the central bank of egypt has put into circulation on 16/6/1985 a note of pt 25 having the same design of the banknote issued on 6/7/1981 with the exception of the following: 1. On the back appears the eagle of salah el din (the new emblem of the republic) instead of qoraish hawk.
    2. The domineering color on the face and back is mauvish blue.

    a metal thread penetrates the right part of the note.size :70 x 130 mm.front : the central feature is the mosque of al-sayida aisha printed in blue, with details defined in black. An islamic pattern in brown, orange and blue appears behind the mosque. The colors of the background are green and orange on the left hand side of the mosque and blue and green on the right hand side thereof. On the right hand side of the mosque, there are two part circle of duplex patterns printed in light brown, green and blue, between which the bank's title and the value of the note are printed in dark brown in bold arabic. Horizontal brown lines run from, both the star-shaped pattern which houses the value of the note at the top right hand corner and the signature of the governor at the bottom, to the right hand edge of the note. On the left hand side of the note, a geometric pattern formed by parallel brown lines envelopes the watermark.back : the back of the note retains much of the character of the previous 25 piastres note issue. The main feature is the eagle together with the u.a.r. Ensign in a circle of geometric pattern surrounded by the drawing of a collection of cotton, maize, and wheat plants. There are two part circle of duplex patterns above and below the emblem. The background is printed in vertical bands of orange, blue, green and orange from left to right.

    Watermark: The mask of Tutankhamoun. A metal thread is incorporated along the width of the left part of the note.Size: 135 x 70 mm.Face: Al Azhar Mosque and its minarets with Islamic decoration in gray. The background of the note, particularly in the middle part, tends to be light orange color. The left side is composed of a mixture of light blue and light red. On the left side of the note there is the name of the Central Bank of Egypt with the value in letters underneath, then the Governor’s signature. The right upper corner contains the value in figures inside a geometric decoration in green. The left lower corner contains the value in figures inside a geometric decoration in light green. Back : The upper part of the statue of Ramsis II, backed by a vertical multi-colored ornamental band and a collection of lotus flowers and the sun boat. At the bottom right corner appears a Pharaonic cartouche. A metal thread penetrates the right part of the note.Size :70 mm x 140mm.Front :The central feature of the note is the Mosque of Sultan Qaitbay printed in dark brown. An ornamental pattern in dark brown merging into tan brown runs along the top side of the note, on the left of which is an olive white line diamond. The Bank’s title and the value of note in bold Arabic are on the right side of the note. On the bottom left and top right of the note in olive and dark brown are two geometric patterns which house the value of the note in open face Arabic. The numbers are printed on the top left and bottom right of the note in black and above the latter number appears the signature of the Governor.Back :The main feature of the note is a part of the facade of Abu Simbel Temple in chestnut brown, to the left and right of which are two cartouches in brown. At the top right and bottom left of the note set in white line diamonds is the value of the note printed in contrasting shades of brown. The Bank’s title and the value of the note in English are printed in dark brown at the top centre and bottom right of the note respectively. At the top and bottom of the note running in two bands horizontally are birds and other shapes taken from the structure built by Ramses II in front of the Luxor Temple of Amenophis II, and the green colour is dominating in the middle and is flanked on either side by brown.

    Watermark :The statue of Tutankhamoun.A fine metal thread permeates through the right hand side of the note. Size :14.5 cm. X 7 cm. Face : The main feature is the Ibn Touloun Mosque in gray, with its minaret being surrounded by geometric designs in light and dark blue. The background is in radiant blue and yellow, starting with a rosette in the same colors on the right hand side and ending with a rosette in blue and green surrounding the watermark. The frame is in bluish gray and includes multi-colored designs at the top and a blue and olive green ribbon at the bottom, interlocked by fine white threads. At the top on the right hand side, and at its bottom on the left hand side, the value is written in white in Arabic figures within a dark olive green geometric pattern decorated with white threads. The name of the Central Bank of Egypt and the value of the note in Arabic letters are inscribed on the right hand side.
    Back : The main feature is a pharaonic picture in violet, symbolizing the River Nile bestowing its blessing on the Valley. To the right and to the left of the picture at the bottom, is a blue horizontal frame inside of which are pharaonic drawings. To the right of the picture is a broad vertical ribbon of pharaonic design, with multi-colored horizontal and vertical lines framed by white lines. To the right of the ribbon and behind the watermark is the pharaonic sun. At the top right hand side is the value in numbers in white inside a rectangle in dark olive green containing fine designs of white thread. To the left hand side, the name of the Central Bank of Egypt is inscribed in English, over heading the value of the note in English letters within a pharaonic design in multi-colored radiant circles, with the value of the note in figures. The background of the back side is in pale violet interlocked with blue and green colors.

    On the left side of the note, there is a mask of King Tutankhamoun that appears when the note is exposed to a penetrating light (serial no.1). Size 15.5 cm x7 cm. Front The main element in the front is Mohammed Ali Mosque in gray. The Mosque has a background of regular toning of the same color. Back The main element is a gray wall tablet containing relief pharaonic drawings on one of the pillars of Sesostris I Temple.

Face The central element is the Mosque of Mohammed Ali (Citadel) in violet behind which is a pattern of Islamic decorations in green. Back To the right of the center, there is a vertical panel in gray depicting the pillar relief in the Temple of Sesostris I at Karnak. On the left hand side there is a pharaonic chariot on which the Bank's title in English is printed.

A see - through feature containing the shape of a pharaonic eye. 3. The micro - print feature : repetitive writing of the phrase " fifty pounds " in Arabic on the face of the note and in English on the back. 4. The latent image feature seen under a reflection of light , and contains the word " Egypt''. 5. The S.C.M2 " Feature a security feature against colored copying. 6. The "Oval " feature behind the Mosque , a security feature against scanning and color coping. 7. The O.V.I " feature , a special ink whose color changes when tilting the note , and it is a security feature against color copying and scanning. 8. A luster hologram strap ( upon which the shape of the stepped pyramid is drawn ) , a security strap against color copying and scanning. 9.Printing in invisible phosphoric ink , visible only under ultraviolet rays. ObverseIts main element is Abu Hariba Mosque in violet gray . The background has Islamic ornamental patterns in relief surrounding the mosque . At the center of the background is an ornamental circular figure in blue , yellow , red , violet and their mixtures . The note is outlined from the top and bottom by Islamic ornamental patterns in reddish - brown , violet gray , and violet. Reverse
    Its main element is an inside view of Edfu Temple in brown . On the top left corner is a figure of the winged sun in violet , brown and golden yellow . Beneath the temple is an ornamental band in violet permeated with fine white lines .The background of the figure has pharaonic arch-like and semi-circular ornamental patterns in relief , and a drawing of the winged scarab, and the sun in blue , green , violet , red , orange and their mixtures.
    This is the only issue in circulation of this denomination.

    Watermark : Tutankhamoun.Size : 16 cm. X 7 cm.Safety Marks :1. A fine safety strap permeates through the note vertically.. 2. The word "Egypt" in Kufi writing is found on the ornamental pattern on the top left corner at the obverse side of the note, shown when tipping the note at eye-level on either side 3. An ornamental pattern is circled on the left of the Bank's name, congruent with the figure of the sun at the reverse side of the note above the scarab. The congruency appears when the note is held up to the light. 4. The number "50" is inscribed in relief on the watermark. Obverse: Its main element is Abu Hariba Mosque in violet grey. The background has Islamic ornamental patterns
    in relief surrounding the Mosque. Reverse : Its main element is an inside view of Edfu Temple in brown. On the top left corner is a figure of the winged sun in violet, brown and golden yellow.

    Watermark : On the left side of the note, there is a picture of the mask of King Tutankhamoun that appears when the note is exposed to a penetrating light.Safety Marks: A magnetic strap upon which the phrase " 100 pounds "is written repeatedly, legible to the naked eye when the note is exposed to a penetrating strong light. A luster hologram strap apparently intermittent which reflects several rainbow colors when changing the angle of sight. Repeatedly drawn upon this strap is the stepped pyramid. When seen in a penetrating light, the strap appears as a continuous one. There is, below the upper ornamental strap, on the left of the note front, a circular ornamental shape that integrates with its counterpart on the back of the note. When seen in a penetrating light it gives the shape of the popular pharaonic eye. On the right half side of the note front, an ornamental circular shape printed in ink whose color changes from violet to olive green, when the note is tilted.
    FACE
    : The main element is the Sultan Hassan Mosque in dark brown. There is a horizontal Islamic ornamental strap at the topmost of the design that ends in an ornamental shape on the right side, containing the denomination in figures and the note identification (pounds).
    BACK

    : The main element is the head of the Sphinx statue in dark brown and an ornamental pharaonic shape, horizontal on the left top of the design in purple and turquoise, that contains in the farthermost left the figure 100, and beneath it the name of the Bank in English

    1- A safety strap permeates through the note, vertically printed with the phrase "Central Bank of Egypt" minutely written.
    2- The number “100” is found on the ornamental pattern at the top left corner on the obverse side of the note, shown when tipping the note at eye-level (known as the invisible picture).3- The number “100” is inscribed in relief (not printed) on the watermark.4- An ornamental pattern is found at the left of the Mosque integrated with another ornamental pattern on the reverse of the note. The integration appears when the note is held up to the light. 5- Under the U.V. rays the picture of the statue of Tutankhamoun appears (in the watermark). The number “100” appears in a radiant pattern in a greenish yellow color. 6- At the bottom of the pattern there is a horizontal line containing the repeated phrase “One Hundred Pounds” minutely written in Kufi, that can be seen by a magnifying glass. 7- At the reverse of the note before the statue of the Sphinx there is a slightly shaded space in which the number “100” shows. The space consists of minute vertical lines containing the phrase “One Hundred Pounds” in a repeated form together with the phrase “Central Bank of Egypt” alternately written each in a line and can be seen by a magnifying glass. 8- The note contains scattered fibers radiating fluorescent colors: yellow, blue and red under the U.V rays. 9- There is a net with various directions printed in the watermark on the obverse that can be seen by a magnifying glass.
    FACE
    Its main element is Sultan Hassan Mosque in dark brown. The note is banded from the top by a horizontal Islamic ornamental pattern ending at right by an ornamental pattern containing the value in figures in crimson, green and brown colors.
    BACK
    The main elements are the head of the Sphinx in dark brown and a horizontal ornamental pharaonic pattern on the top left side in crimson and bluish green.
