Job Purpose:
This role liaises with senior heads of various departments in a Shared Services setup. The role is an integral part of the cost allocation and back charging methodology and will provide pivotal decision making information to the heads of the organisation. The preferred individual will be of high academic calibre with a strong lean towards candidates who have worked within a shared services environment. One of the priorities of the role is to secure a candidate who is capable of devising a successful financial management information process.
Key Result Areas:
? Prepares financial and business related analyses and research focused on Shared Services and functions
? Develops financial models for business cases to estimate costs and savings of Shared Services projects and prepares spending commitment requests to obtain approvals per corporate policies.
? Creates Executive level presentations of business cases, financial and operational results
? Reviews reported results, compares to budgets and forecasts, and explains significant variances for Shared Services functions
? Prepares and/or reviews budgets and and forecasts for Shared Services functions
? Analyzes financial data and provides insight and recommendations for business decisions.
? Identifies control gaps and assess risk
? Works with other resources to perform risk and control assessments, demonstrates an understanding of business threats
? Conducts special studies to analyze complex financial actions and prepares recommendations for policy, procedure, control, or action.
? Provides interpretation of financial policies, accounting theory, or customer financial regulations.
? Analyzes financial information to determine present and future financial performance.
? Identifies trends and recommends improvements accordingly.
? Evaluates complex profit plans, operating records, and financial statements.
? Directs preparation of studies, reports, and analyses in areas such as budgets, forecasts, financial plans, statistical reports, cash flow projections, and business forecasts.
? Interprets and applies corporate financial policies and accounting theory.
? Establishes databases of pertinent information for use in analyzing future plans and forecasts.
? Makes recommendations to management regarding cost saving or profit generating opportunities and profitability improvement strategies.
? Coordinates with all levels of management to gather, analyze, summarize, and prepare recommendations regarding financial plans, acquisition activity, new business planning, trended future requirements, and operating forecasts.
? Researches and prepares economic reports on subjects such as rate of return, depreciation, working capital requirements, and impact of organizational requirements.
? Assists in the development of the budget, planning, and other corporate financial requirements.
