General Purpose and Scope of Position:The maintenance technician will be responsible for the repair and maintenance of facility equipment from a day-to-day standpoint. This individual will also be expected to be an integral member of the safety program and a workplace leader in the aspect of safety and operations. The maintenance technician will be responsible for preventative maintenance, ongoing machinery management, and some training of employees on basic operational and maintenance functions to ensure the efficient operation of all aspects of the facility. Key Skills and Abilities:Mechanical aptitude and ability to perform routine preventative maintenance and quickly and accurately troubleshoot problemsAbility to multi-task and prioritize in a fast-paced and changing work environmentStrong process implementation and time management skillsA professional individual with strong leadership and organization skillsAbility to create and lead with a cultural focus on safetyAbility to efficiently diagnose, disassemble, or repair plant equipment breakdowns and to work with outside contractors when requiredAbility to follow company policy regarding worker safety and housekeeping standardsAble to lift 75 pounds, climb stairs or ladders frequently and work from heightsPreferred- experience and skills in many facets of industrial operations, including welding, bearings, chains, shafts, belts, electric motors, etc. Key Personal Attributes:Willing to do whatever is necessary to follow and support the vision of plant leadershipThe desire to help the team with any task, no matter how small or trivialA hands-on approach to problem-solving machinery maintenanceAn individual with a high level of integrity, who will represent the company wellProcess-focused and results-driven individual who is passionate about being part of a team and solving problemsHigh energy, positive, and enthusiastic individual who will enhance a positive attitude in the work environmentAble to work and contribute to a team approach with a positive attitude and outlook. Education and Experience:2-4 years’ experience in facility maintenance preferredExperience in feed or agricultural operations is a plusExperience with equipment (loader, forklift, etc.) operation is also a plus Specific Responsibilities and Key Deliverables:Lead by example … this is a hands-on roleWork with plant leadership and outside contractors to coordinate major equipment repairFollow monthly preventive maintenance schedule and take a leadership role in ensuring a thorough system cleanout occurs between seasonsMonitor parts inventory levelsResponsible for and abide by all aspects of plant and employee safety as outlined in the Wilbur-Ellis Environmental, Health, and Safety Management SystemFollow all safety, regulatory, and administrative policies and proceduresMeet and complete all WECO regulatory safety requirementsEnsure equipment passes employee safety inspections and follow OSHA standardsEnsure safe operation of company equipment and ensure regular safety inspections are performedPresent a professional image to our internal and external customers through personal appearance and overall location cleanlinessBeing the first point of contact with
