For more information, visit the company's website at www.ge.com Posted Position Title: Risk Analyst – Origination Strategy Career Level: Experienced Function: Risk Management Function Segment: Portfolio Management Location: New Zealand U.S. State, China or Canada Provinces: City: Auckland Postal Code: 1010 Relocation Assistance: No Role Summary/Purpose: This position will be responsible for supporting the consumer risk team with ongoing monitoring and enhancements of the automated underwriting strategies across GE's closed end and revolving portfolios Essential Responsibilities: Monitoring of & enhancements to the automated underwriting strategies, as they relate to evaluation new through-the-door applications across GE's closed end and revolving products. Tasks are likely to include:
Generating monthly reporting packs providing insight into trends within our through the door applicant population
Assist with ad hoc queries on various aspects of portfolio originations performance
Conduct detailed deep dives into specific trends within our portfolios
Monitoring of underwriting scorecard performance to ensure adequate levels of discrimination are being achieved; and loss and delinquency rates are aligned with underwriting expectations
Review new business underwriting strategies; identify opportunities and recommend enhancements that will deliver increased approval / pull through rates and improved customer experience.
Supporting the Risk function to deliver on key elements of strategic organisation wide projects
Supporting the business with Risk analytics for product variations and or new product introductions
Delivering profitable & compliant growth through enhanced underwriting strategies and / or increased automation
Providing detailed reviews of the impacts of aforementioned strategy changes
Liaise with IT as required to manage delivery of changes to automated processes and systems Qualifications/Requirements: Educated to degree level in a numerate or commercial discipline

Experience
A successful track record in Consumer Risk Management is preferred

Alternately

5+ years' experience in the banking sector;
OR
3+ years as an analyst using SAS as a primary tool

Technical Knowledge
Experience with SAS
Experience in Decision Systems design and / or implementation - ideally with one or more of the following: Probe, NBSM Gen III, Decision Point
Up to date knowledge of sector Best Practice and regulatory requirements

Skills
Ability to think strategically and deliver design and deliver strategy changes with a material P&L impact
Excellent analytic and statistical skills, prior experience in business use of statistics a pre-requisite
Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with strong capabilities to articulate complex analytical information
Advanced facilitation & presentation skills
