The role also provides support to the Underwriting Leader by monitoring workflow, handling escalations where required and coaching new & existing staff.Essential Responsibilities:
- Assess and make credit decisions on closed-end and revolving product applications including secured and unsecured loans and Credit Cards
- Correct decisioning of applications within delegated authority (DA)

- Make recommendations where applicable to higher delegated authorities (DA)

- Review District Manager/Relationship Manager referrals on resubmitted loan applications where required

- Monitor and control workflow through proactively identifying potential service needs

- Proactively flex across underwriting teams as per workflow requirements

- Identify resourcing requirements and liaise with Underwriting Manager to determine flexing of resources to support

- Coaching of new and existing staff to ensure best practice is shared

- Build strong relationships with stakeholders by providing service within determined SLA’s and a positive customer experience

- Handle and own escalations from stakeholders and resolve accordingly in line with GE policy & procedure

Qualifications/Requirements:

• Year 12 completion
• Tertiary Financial/Accounting/Business qualification preferred
• Preferred 3 years consumer loan underwriting experience
• Experience in GE branch network (preferred but not essential)
• Financial Services legislative knowledge
• Strong analytical skills
• Strong decision making skills
• Computer literate
• Intermediate Microsoft Office skills
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
